Terms of service.
The plain-English terms behind every migration, including exactly what each promise covers.
Who these terms are between
These terms are between you, the store owner or agency hiring me, and Glen Gallarde, a freelance developer who moves WooCommerce stores to Shopify. Your written quote and these terms together make up our agreement. If they ever disagree, the quote wins.
Fixed Price Promise
The price in your quote is the price you pay for everything listed in its scope. Nothing extra is charged unless you approve it in writing first.
- The scope is what your audit and quote list: the data to move, the theme work, the apps to set up and the redirects.
- If you ask for something outside that scope, such as a new feature or extra pages, I'll quote it separately before starting it.
- If I find something during the work that the audit should have caught, I cover it at no extra cost.
Switch-back promise
If launch day goes wrong, your WooCommerce store goes back live within the hour while I fix the problem.
- "Goes wrong" means customers can't browse, add to cart or check out on the new store, or orders aren't being recorded.
- Your WooCommerce store and its hosting stay intact until 30 days after launch, so the switch back is always possible in that time. Please keep your hosting active until then.
30 days of free fixes
For 30 days after launch, I fix anything that is missing or broken because of the migration, at no charge. That includes missing products, customers or orders, broken redirects, and pixels or emails that stop firing.
It doesn't cover new features, design changes, problems caused by apps or edits added after launch, or outages on Shopify's side. I'm happy to quote for those separately.
30-day ranking watch
For 30 days after launch, I check your Google Search Console daily and fix any redirect or indexing issue I find. Rankings depend on Google, so I can't guarantee positions, but I can make sure nothing on the migration side holds them back.
Payment
- 50% of the quoted price is due to start the work, and 50% at launch.
- Invoices are payable within 7 days.
- Work outside the quote is invoiced only after you approve it in writing.
What I need from you
Admin access to your store, a list of the plugins you rely on, timely answers to questions and access to your domain settings on launch day. If I'm waiting on any of these, the launch date moves by the same amount of time.
Your data
I take a full backup before anything moves, use your store data only to migrate it, sign an NDA on request, and delete my copies after launch. The privacy policy has the details.
Cancellation
You can cancel at any time by email. If you cancel before work starts, I refund your deposit in full. If you cancel after work has started, you pay for the work done up to that point, and I hand over everything completed.
Ownership
Once the project is paid, everything I build for your store is yours. Third-party themes and apps stay under their own licences.
Liability
I take great care with every store and keep a full backup, but I can't be responsible for losses caused by Shopify, third-party apps, payment providers or hosting companies. My total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid me for the project.
Changes
If these terms change, the date at the top of this page changes too. The terms in place when you approved your quote apply to your project.
